I'm going to disagree with you fellows on this subject. If you've never lived on a 'daily diet' of foul language, sex, alcohol, etc, and say it doesn't have an affect on you, just what world are you living in?
I've lived, worked in the construction trade and play professional sports in that type of enviroment for over forty years, and to say it didn't have any affect on me, I would be living in the world of OZ. To succeed in professional sports you must be able to handle DISTRACTIONS, at least in golf because it is primarily an individual sport.
I've read reports of women having serious problems with their husbands (non-JW's) spending a great deal of time on the internet watching porno, monkey sees, monkey wants to do. I myself has served (in the past) as a bad influence, so, I'm talking from experience.

even more so how many people you meet here and after getting a chance to know them, learn they know some of the very same people you do?
(for example i met a woman here on the board whom i have never met personally but she knows some people that i grew up, even the 'brother' who gave me my first kiss..

My wife has had it for a number of years now. Everyone once in awhile she gets a piece of 'discolored' flesh removed from her back and have it checked out. The results? So far, so good. She goes to a local cancer group in our community. Group meetings has helped her as she likes to help others.

NO! I'll go one step further. I passed an exam for a fellow ironworker and within a couple of years he lost his union card through negligence. I even paid for his expenses and I never got a thank you. Would I do it again, hmmm, I enjoy challenges, good question. Let your conscience be your guide.

a jw relative brought out something i actually had to agree with.
we were discussing positive vs. negative aspects of the "truth".
she brought out that the witnesses do not participate in war, and i thought 'gee, that's probably a good thing'.
Their booklet, 'Legally Establishing The Good News' cites cases wherein ALL people benefited from their persistent fight for freedom of religion. Individual and collective freedoms are a must to a free society, if not, well, you fill in the blanks.

i had my surgery on the 15th.and life was hell.the doc found the rotater cuff had started to rot.yummy.he had to cut a large bone spur that had actually cut into the cuff causing the rip.then he found my clavical bone was being distroyed by arthritis, so the bone was partially cut away.i was in surgery 2 hrs.i am still recovering and on pain meds.lots of meds.i am just checking in .i hope you are all well and safe.kls
I wish you a speedy recovery. Easy on the pain killers.

whether the 90 to 98 billion dollars (partial or grant) that will be spent to 'rebuild' iraq, will this include rebuilding the ancient tower of babel as a monument?
symbolism play a major role in ancient cultures.
the bible has cursed the rebuilding of the tower.

My interest was the building of Tower of Babel. The WTC is slowly being rebuilt and the main building will have an X amount of empty floors to stand as a monument of the Sept. 11 carnage.
